What to Expect When You Visit Us Sunday Morning at ORPC Contemporary Service at 8:45 We seem to thrive on arriving at the last minute and lingering after worship. There is a sudden surge at nine o’clock for our contemporary worship, a service led by our pastor and praise team, a group of dedicated volunteer musicians. Dress is casual. The tone is informal. We don’t skimp on the message. Childcare is available. Children are also welcome.
Sunday School at 9:45 Adults gather around our signature blend coffee urns to fill up before joining together in one of our three adult Sunday school classes. In the library you’ll find a variety of adult age groups represented at a study of Christian Doctrine. Young adults are engaged in an ongoing study of the Bible. The third class is a video-based study of a variety of topics throughout the year.
Children and youth gather in age-specific classes. Our “workshop rotation model” guides children their lessons in the main building. Middle school youth, 9th Graders, and grades 10-12 meeting across the parking lot in the office and supplemental classroom buildings.
Traditional Worship at 11:00 We begin in much the same way as our 8:45 service – the pre-worship gathering is loud with fellowship, the surge happens at 10:59, but following the announcements, worship takes on a more formal shape and tone. Traditional hymns are standard. A chancel choir leads the music. Creeds, both ancient and contemporary, are the congregation’s response to the sermon. Childcare is provided. Children are also welcome in worship.
